Training for Cambridge Half Marathon and raising money for CMA

I am looking forward to my first race of the year – I love Cambridge and the thought of running around it in March is enough to get me out in the bitter weather conditions.  My aim is to run it under 2 hours and raise money for The Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA).

The CMA  is a UK charity providing information and support to families affected by the heart muscle condition cardiomyopathy.  I want to help my running partner who tragically  lost her husband to the condition a few years ago.

Years have passed, the children are growing and with her limited spare time she is training for her first marathon, her aim is to raise a total of £1000 this year for the CMA.  I am sure she will do it.

It would give this race a whole new meaning if we manage to raise money for the CMA.  If you are able to sponsor you can do so through my fundraising page here or by visiting Gaelle‘s.

Running stats for 2011:

929.01 kms were covered – used two pairs of Nike

Lost 3 toe nails

Burned a total of 56 630 calories in the process that’s the equivalent of 103 burgers…

Have a love and hate relationship with my Nike+iPod

Only start to get in a zone 45 minutes into a run

I have placed my marathon medal in a noticeable area of the kitchen
