Scotland

A little escapade in the hills of Scotland, in random orders here are my key words: wet, green, fluorescent green, serenity, laughters, sexy accent, wine, YouTube party, abundance, frivolity, cepes, mochas,  dancing in the wrong places, running, gossiping, missing the moment already…

Is The Gadget Show suffering from the Lara Croft syndrome?

I am a big fan of The Gadget Show, the presenting team has the right chemistry and the producers have carefully catered for both men and women.  I have however taken a step back after watching the last show with the introduction of new presenter: Polyanna.

She is young sexy and very much into gadgets…nothing wrong with that at all  -  she is just a bit of a contrast to her average yet quirky looking fellow male presenters…

Up until now I have never looked at any of the presenters on The Gadget Show from a “sex appeal” perspective,  charisma and  passion were quite enough to keep me hooked.
Polyanna is lovely and has a great future ahead of her -  I am sure she will make her own space within the show I just can’t help but question the motivation behind the producer team … in the last episode I found myself discussing her bra size with my hubby… now maybe I am wrong but I am pretty sure that Jason would have kept us on track.

Why is it that women on tv always seem to have to go the extra mile to look good and sexy while men are getting away with their charisma and presenting skills?

I am a bit disappointed that The Gadget Show felt for the Lara Croft syndrome, many women are both involved and embracing technology, some happen to be sexy, some are average, what is obvious is that it really isn’t relevant to technology.

Opinion pleaaaaase!
